Think of Women that have a story to tell and have rose above those tribulations to become someone greater! Hopefully this will inspire these young girls to push through there own obstacles.

Basketball beyond the states

http://www.wnba.com/chamique_holdsclaw_travels___2012_09_07.html

A former WNBA player, Chamique Holdsclaw feel it is her duty to use the opportunity to give back! She understands that giving back is much more than just money and is not located at a central location. Holdsclaw had the opportunity to travel to African to learn more about her culture and view it first hand.
Unlike most people she is aware that basketball has been an outlet for her and can potentially be an outlet for a youngster, here in the USA and abroad.
She Travelled with a group called "Basketball without Border"~ This organization is a global basketball outreach program that promotes leadership and sportsmanship.
Coach Holdsclaw visited many different countries on the Continent.  She witnessed the togetherness of these communities and the positive effect basketball has on young people. She came in contact with the top 125 female and male players and had to opportunity to coach them. She preached to the younger girls especially to be "great" on and off the court!
Off the court she took part in Building homes for the community as well.
Holdclaw felt this trip was eye opening and  an awesome experience. This trip helped her see the growth and impact of basketball all over the world. I can only imagine  how rewarding the experience has been. I know the coach Holdsclaw has a new outlook on life!
